Ken and Becky Minton

Becky is a retired Captain in the U.S. Navy with over 36 years of service to our country.  Ken is a United Methodist Pastor from the Florida Conference with 39 years of service.  We have been married for 44 years.  We have lived in Hawaii, Virginia, and Florida.  We are currently living in the beautiful Upstate region of South Carolina.

We have been travelling the world together for the past 33 years.  What began as a simple trip to England has turned into a passion to see as much of this great big, beautiful world as possible. Since that first trip, we have traveled to many incredible places.  We have led hundreds of people to some amazing destinations both near and far.   We love to travel.

Through our web page, we would like to: (1) share a bit about some of the places that we have been; (2) tell you about some of the trips that we will be taking in the near future; and (3) tell you about the company that we have selected to turn all of our dreams into amazing adventures – Educational Opportunities Tours.

the value of travel

With the pace, challenges and complexity of life these days, it is quite natural for us to want to withdraw into ourselves and to do only those things that are safe, comfortable and familiar.  Yet, without meaning to, we close ourselves off from the exhilarating freshness that the world has to offer us.

Travel helps us step out of the routine and regularity that fills so much of our lives.   Travel gives us the opportunity to get away … to listen to other people’s stories … to watch how others find joy and peace in the midst of their struggles … to learn something new about ourselves and others … to consider a different point of view … to taste a new dish that brings the senses to life … to tingle with awe and wonder as we take in the beauty of creation … to allow the Spirit to speak to the deep-seated needs and questions of the soul.

Without question – travel is the antidote to the patterned predictability of life.  The world is calling.  Let’s GO!

The Holy Land

We have been to the Holy Land many times. The rich history and traditions of the people and places of the Holy Land draw us into a deeper appreciation and understanding of faith at work in our lives.

 

River Cruises

We love to River Cruise.  We have sailed along the Danube River two times and the Rhine River five times on our Cruise Line of choice – AmaWaterways.  There is nothing like the incredible Christmas Market Cruise along the Rhine River or a hot cup of Rüdesheim Coffee on a cold day.

 

Mediterranean Cruises

We have sailed the Mediterranean five times now.  The bright blue water, the historical treasures of Italy and Greece, the amazing food, the joyous music, and the endless celebration of life beckon our return.

where are we going next?

Becky and I have quite a “Bucket List” of all of the places that we want to travel to and explore.   We just love making new friends, seeing how people of other cultures live their daily lives, sampling lots of delicious local food, and soaking in the sights and smells of each new place.   Where next?   How about …….

Splendors of Italy

We will be traveling through Italy by land in 2024 to Venice, Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Siena, Assisi, Rome, Vatican City, the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento, Capri, Pompeii and more!

Western Mediterranean

We will be traveling on back-to-back cruises on Azamara in 2025.  We will visit the Canary Islands, Morocco, Gibraltar, Lisbon, Seville, Malaga, Valencia, Palma Majorca, Barcelona, and more!.

Holy Land

 

We are hoping to return soon to enjoy the major historical, archaeological and theological sites found throughout the Holy Land of Israel and Palestine.
